This is the Role

As a Logistics Operations Manager, you will manage a comprehensive EMEA wide network of own and external packed warehouses and bulk liquid terminals and the operational execution of the several sourced carriers (ocean, packed, bulk liquids, rail) to deliver Eastman’s proprietary materials to the end-customer. In addition to that your team will be composed of several site logistics’ facilities, planning departments and a performance team. Your team has a key role in the coordination of logistics operations and the performance management of our Logistics Service Providers in the EMEA region.

Your core objective is to effectively manage the multi-regional teams, drive productivity improvements and develop a world class logistics material flow aligned with goals of the Logistics Strategy 2023.

The Logistic Operations Manager is co-responsible for advancing the logistics strategy and objectives, and aligning the sites towards best practices, logistics performance and suppliers to deliver optimal benefits for Eastman Chemical’s Business.

Besides leading the team, you have a critical role in projects that affect the system set-up, organizational structure and costs. You will be involved in a great diversity of logistics processes and you will be regularly collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

This role reports to the Logistics Director EMEA and requires frequent travel within the region.

As Logistics Operational Manager, you offer excellent managerial, analytical and communication skills. You are culture sensitive and have a well-developed interpersonal sensitivity.  You communicate effectively with a variety of people across multiple cultures and functions and you work according to high ethical standards.

You are at an advanced level in problem solving & decision making, results orientation and you perform at best in a team environment. You offer strong organization and planning skills and have a structured and methodological way of working. You will have the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

This is what you bring

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field.;
  • Experience (>10 years) in the field of Logistics, Supply Chain, Materials Management within the chemicals industry;
  • Experience in an international leadership role within the chemical industry is mandatory (> 3 years);
  • Experience with business process and work process development in supply chain/ logistics;
  • Fluent in English, verbal and written;
  • Knowledge of SAP;
  • APICS, Lean Sigma or CPM certification is a plus but not necessary;
